Workshop about the works of Joseph Beaumont and Henry More.
On the 2nd of May the Cambridge Centre for the Study of Platonism hosted a workshop on the controversy surrounding Henry More’s Grand Mystery of Godliness, spearheaded by High Churchmen like Joseph Beaumont, Master of Peterhouse, who attacked More for his doctrine of the pre-existence of the soul, doctrine of the soul-body, and his allegedly lax attitude to Church authority. Among other contributions, Sam Fornecker gave a paper on the theology of Joseph Beaumont.
